Salem Poor

"What kind of music do you make?"

This native son of California, turned New Englander, has difficulty choosing a genre from a dropdown menu. A genre for Salem Poor doesn't exist.

Pyschedelic funk hop? Dance hip rock? If the Beastie Boys, Fatboy Slim, Beck, and Phish had a baby? Perhaps the song title 'Head Banging Boogie' best describes the style. Even then, every song is different.

From a history of live bands and music making come this first self-produced album. Funky bass lines and big drum beats drive the songs. A mixture of horns, keys, synths, and other various instruments color the landscape. Topped off with lyrics about everything from freedom, to fun, to slightly more serious.

Authentic, original, colorful Salem Poor.
